What’s Included

What you should know before taking Saxenda.

  • HbA1c - (3-month glucose average): Flags prediabetes/diabetes risk; guides carb strategy and GLP-1 dosage monitoring.
  • Iron Profile - Typically includes Serum Iron, TIBC/Transferrin, % Saturation, Ferritin—finds iron-deficiency or overload that can cause fatigue, hair fall, and poor exercise tolerance.
  • Lipid Profile - Total Cholesterol, LDL-C, HDL-C, Triglycerides, VLDL—core for cardiovascular risk in weight-loss planning.
  • LFT (Liver Function Test) - ALT, AST, GGT, ALP, Bilirubin, Proteins/Albumin—helps screen NAFLD (fatty liver) and medication safety.
  • Fasting & Post Blood Sugar - Same-day snapshot to complement HbA1c.
  • TFT (Thyroid Function Test) - Thyroid status strongly influences energy use and weight trajectory.
  • Vitamin B12 - Low levels are linked to fatigue, neuropathy, and sometimes weight-loss plateaus; important if vegetarian or on metformin/GLP-1.
  • Testosterone – Women: screens for androgen excess (e.g., PCOS) that can drive abdominal fat, acne, hair changes.
Men: low levels may relate to low energy, low muscle mass, and fat gain.
  • Vitamin D (25-Hydroxy) - Deficiency is common; optimising supports bone/muscle health, mood, and training response.
  • KFT (Kidney Function Test) - with Electrolytes:Urea, Creatinine, eGFR + Sodium, Potassium, Chloride—hydration, kidney safety, and electrolyte balance for exercise and medications.
